I am senior lecturer in the
Department of Computing Science
at the
University of Glasgow
in Scotland.
Research
My main area of interest lies in the usability of persistent systems
which includes at least the following considerations:
- User Interfaces to Database Systems
- Database Programming Language
- Object Oriented Databases
- Data Visualisation
and as an application area for a testbed
- Geographic Information Systems
Therefore, I'm an active member of the
Persistent and Distributed Systems Research Group and the Glasgow Interactive Systems Group
(GIST),

Teaching
This year, I am giving the following lectures:
- a short introductory course on databases to the MSc IT
- a basic database course also to the MSc IT
- a basic DB Course to the Level 2 Undergraduate class
- courses on OODBMS and User Interfaces to the AIS Advanced MSc
- ad hoc Java courses
