Make models work project is part of Image Faraday Partnership funded by DTI - Department of Trade and Industry. The project was to conform a generic animatalbe model to human body models captured by various 3D scanners (laser scanner, moire interferrometry and stereo photogrammetry etc). The conformed model maintains the topoligical configuration of the generic animatable model and clone the shape of the scanned model that the 3D scanned human body models can be animated. The reseach work carried on the project had three main tasks - a: human body articulation. b: human body critial points detection. c: human body model conformation for animation. Because correspondences can be established between different models, the conformation can not only be applied on human body animation but other applications need correspondences such as surface statistical modelling.
